And to add insult to injury, HP is showing off its upcoming tablet that features Flash and AIR.

In response to the iPad’s advertisement that was seen during this year’s Academy Awards, the Windows 7-based Slate was presented by playing full episodes of MTV’s “The City” and Flash games. It also shows how the Slate utilizes multi-touch pinch-to-zoom functions on its capacitive touchscreen display.

The Slate also has an enhanced desktop, adding a theme with large icons as well as letting users “star” their favorite shortcuts. It also has an additional menu bar on top of the screen and a floating keyboard that can be moved around the screen.

We still do not know about specifications, pricing, and release date of the Slate.

Apples are in full swing with a tablet device manufacturers, analyst Matt Thornton in AVI Securities said in a note on Friday. Talking with a component supplier, he said the part has been in the supply chain for some time but that the final product is now in “full production” will be released soon. The iPhone’s designers should be planned to start final assembly in 2009 but experienced delays affecting some suppliers are expecting increased business.

No matter supply, demand for NAND flash memory may have been increased specifically to accommodate a large touch screen hardware, Thornton noted. Apple design is also expected to eat into the netbook market and consequently take the supply away from ordinary people to produce a netbook. One recent rumor has secured many Apple 10-inch display for himself at the expense of the people began to design a new computer.

As many as 10 million tablets can be built in the first year, according to financial experts.

Manufacturing at this stage will remain in sync with most newer rumors for Apple’s mystery product, which can be introduced at an event on January 27, but will not ship until March.

The 14-inch HP dv4i work well with 2.4GHz Intel Core I5 520M or 540M processor 2.53GHz dual-core, it’s your choice. Either way, with the Turbo Boost feature can speed up the notebook up to 2.93GHz and 3.06GHz respectively. It also has up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, up to 500GB hard disk, and 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4550 graphics chipset.

Design-wise, it makes all the glossy black case with a circular pattern that overlaps its predecessor. This also means he has to keep the chrome trackpad that some users are not too interested about.

Dv4i HP notebook is now available at the official store, with costs ranging from U.S. $ 799.

Big dark cloud that has hung over every CES2010 Tablet / Slate announcement continues to build on the horizon as a great gadget to show in the desert to begin to draw near. There are lots of new Apple Tablet / Slate rumors as has happened only Tablet / Slate launched the device appears.

One of the few pupils come from an article that says NYTimes : the company has “spent the last few years working on a multitouch version of iWork,” Apple’s answer to Microsoft Office software suite. This could indicate that Apple wanted a tablet into a fully functional computer, rather than the more passive devices for reading books and watching movies.

Now, this really should not come as a surprise to anyone who has followed the leaks, rumors and myths. Of smart GBM readers will remember this post from March 2008 where we reported that Apple has put up a sign looking for the following:

Handwriting Recognition team is seeking an engineer who will be responsible for advancing Apple’s handwriting recognition technology for Mac OS X. The ideal candidate will be an expert in the field of pattern recognition, with a very good understanding of handwriting recognition issues. People also will take primary responsibility for maintaining and improving existing code and tools. The recognition technology you create may be beyond the Mac OS X to other applications and the iPhone.

And then this September we reported the news that Apple has hired back Michael Tchao, who had been instrumental in the design of ill fated Apple Newton.

Are these rumors filtering and reading the tea leaves then we will see a kind of ink or the data on the Tablet creation myth? Who knows. But look this way. Steve Jobs is not stupid and he likes ecosytem controlled. If there are people who will make the creation of documents on the device, it will be the first and foremost Apple. If I had to guess, and in the next few weeks, I’ll be proven a fool or a good guesser, I would say that there is likely to be a form of movement / pen / touch input by offering to introduce a new Tablet. Will not stupid in my opinion. IWork suite scheduled to update, (which usually comes in the announcement of Apple’s MacWorld) and when all the work. But once again, we can only see a big remote control for Apple TV.

Just in time for CES, Lenovo is preparing a new smartbook called Skylight, a netbook refination the concept. Weighing less than one kilogram and the special features of their own interface to make getting online more quickly and more easily than ever before.

This little dynamo offers ten solid hours of battery life, along with some sweet technology including ARM specification 1 GHz CPU, graphics processor, integrated GPS, Bluetooth connectivity and, not surprisingly, wi-fi and mobile broadband.

Skylight will be available starting from $ 499, which already makes me look suspicious. I could buy a pretty nice laptop for that much money, if they really think that extended battery life will make a big difference? And as for “custom interface”, my current laptop is connected to the Internet quite well, and it was just an old Dell Latitude. Sure, we all want to like the concept of streaming media into new forms of delivery of movies, too, but I do not see any provision to play your old DVDs on the Skylight.

Forgive me if I find myself smartbook not convinced that this will be the next big thing when he did not have the flexibility of choice. It all looks like from here is a castrated laptop.

Today we are speaking of National Geographic’s hard drive.

This really is about what sounds like a 160-GB external hard drive that contains one hundred and twenty years from the National Geographic issue, happens all the way back to issue 1 of 1888.

Now, here’s where things get interesting. Apparently, 160 gigs is about 100 too much for the collection, which occupies only 60 spaces show. So, if you buy this, you get every issue of National Geographic preserved as a whole (even the original ad!), Plus you get a 100 gig hard drive space, free of charge.

And remember you can get one of these for $ 200 dollars, if you have even the most interested in National Geographic, this is one purchase you should make.
