Not really seeing the impact of DJ Hero in places I’ve traveled, the only place I’ve played it was at my local Best Buy. Sales numbers must be impressive as Activision has confirmed that DJ Hero 2 is a reality and in production.

Not much is known beyond that except that there will be some kind of “Listening Session” contest that allows the winner’s mix to be featured in the new game. More details should emerge soon.

Amulet Voice Controlled Remote

I’m still not sold on the sound control … in each product. But for those who are disabled or lack the skills necessary to change the channel might only God send. Amulet Remote, which appears on their second iteration, is the voice activated remote that can control HTPC or just about any part of home theater equipment just by talking. This also would seem that this version is built specifically for Windows 7 and is a complete IR distance learning.

Amulet Remote Windows 7 will ship Q1 2010 and retail for $ 249.

Lenovo Multimedia Remote With Keyboard Is Just $60

I just bought me a Mac Mini and with it the Logitech DiNovo keyboard with a built-in trackpad – I do the whole home theater PC case. But now, after seeing the latest product Lenovo, I began to regret my purchase, from the existing keyboard.

Lenovo Multimedia Remote with the keyboard is already on sale (a little sly intruder) for $ 60. As you’ve sussed it out of the picture combines a QWERTY keyboard with trackball. Connectivity comes via a 2.4GHz USB receiver with a distance of max 10 meters. Currently, only Windows compatible, but I assume that means you can connect to a Mac, you just will not get back the software to tweak the final settings.
