And to add insult to injury, HP is showing off its upcoming tablet that features Flash and AIR.

In response to the iPad’s advertisement that was seen during this year’s Academy Awards, the Windows 7-based Slate was presented by playing full episodes of MTV’s “The City” and Flash games. It also shows how the Slate utilizes multi-touch pinch-to-zoom functions on its capacitive touchscreen display.

If you have bought an Energizer Duo as is, your computer would not be in trouble. The problem, however, lies once you have downloaded the battery monitoring software for Windows. Owners of the Duo for Mac need not worry.

To remove the Trojan, you need to uninstall the software first, which would remove the Windows registry value that executes the Trojan. Restart your computer, then go to the System32 directory and delete the file named “arucer.dll.” You can also use a firewall to block access to 7777/tcp.

In the United States, texting while driving is more popular than calling despite being banned in 19 states. Good thing researchers over at Clemson University in South Carolina have developed an alternative way to send text messages while keeping your eyes on the road.

The school’s Human Centered Computing Lab has created an app called VoiceTEXT, which allows drivers to speak out over at the phone that sends the voicemail message as an audio file or converts it into text message.

However, this technology works on a “phone-to-phone” basis. The speech-to-text function, for instance, works flawlessly for smartphones with voice recognition software. Other phones, meanwhile, would have to send voice messages instead. We wonder, however, if sending voice messages requires the phone to have an integrated recorder.

The developers hope that their infant technology would gain notice from big time wireless providers or phone manufacturers.

Because the Internet generation gets confused with the traditional QWERTY keyboard layout, one company comes up with a “fast finger” keyboard wherein the letter keys are arranged alphabetically. No need to hunt where the A is placed or wonder why the letters are arranged in QWERTY in the first place . After all, people are typing in three- to four-letter acronyms while on the Internet.

The Fast Finger Keyboard has even made acronym typing easier with its shortcut keys for the most common short-hand expressions like ASAP (as soon as possible), BRB (be right back), BTW (by the way), CYA (see you), FYI (for your information), HOAS (hold on a second), HRU (who are you), IMO (in my opinion), L8R (later), LOL (laughing out loud), THX (thanks), and TTYL (talk to you later).

If you still insist on typing like a secretary, you can switch back to the QWERTY layout at a push of a key.

The Fast Finger Keyboard costs US$22.99 on its official website . It is also sold on Amazon.
